Windmill Foods Ltd was started fifteen years ago by Kevin Harradine and Adrian Venn following redundancy from Northern Foods.
The Company specialised in supplying fresh dairy products to the wholesale, retail and dairy trade. Six years ago they joined forces with Robert Harrison at Crow Hill Farm, Wilden, Beds, enabling them to produce from the farm and set about becoming registered 'Soil Association Approved' Organic suppliers.
The dairy now processes in excess of 25,000 litres of milk, cream and yogurt per day. We are currently supplying a nationwide chain of coffee shops, National Health Service, Hotels and Schools, along with the general public. We are also major suppliers to the Asian sweet manufacturers - and now very proud suppliers to Buy-Local for the people of Bedford!
The business continues to grow and we are looking forward to extending our organic product range, but for now, please enjoy our fantastic Organic milk we offer you!
Organic milk has more nutrients than non-organic milk. One pint of organic milk is on average 68% richer in health-promoting omega 3 fatty acids. It also has a favourable ratio of omega 6 to omega 3.
The enhanced nutritional benefit of organic milk is due to the cows' organic and more natural diet, which is high in fresh grass, forage and clover.
